Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Governor of North Darfur, Al-Hafiz Bakheet, has issued a decisive response to the warning issued by the Rapid Support Forces militia, which called on the army and the joint forces to leave Fasher within 48 hours, emphasizing that the militia cannot overthrow Fasher, no matter the circumstances or conditions.
In a statement, Al-Hafiz said, “We have seen in the media a statement, weak and not worth the ink it was written with, from the Rapid Support Forces militia calling on the armed forces, their supporting forces from the joint forces, police, the General Intelligence Service, the mobilized forces, and the self-defense forces (Qushin) to surrender their weapons within forty-eight hours, with an assurance of safe exit from the city of Fasher. We, in the government of North Darfur, say that this statement confirms, beyond any doubt, the collapse of this rebellious militia after the painful blows it received from the brave armed forces and their supporting forces in the desert axis and all sites across Sudan.”
He added, “We, in North Darfur and in the city of Fasher, assure you that this militia will not be able to overthrow Fasher, God willing, no matter the conditions and circumstances. Their alleged statement is nothing more than part of an information war to boost the morale of the remnants of their forces, who fled in panic in the desert.”
The Governor of North Darfur confirmed that the city of Fasher will remain resilient to those plotting against it, thanks to the cohesion of the armed forces, the joint forces, the police, the General Intelligence Service, the self-defense forces (Qushin), and the mobilized forces, who work in perfect harmony and are on full alert to deter anyone who attempts to harm Fasher or any part of North Darfur, alongside the great popular support for these forces.
