Agar Accuses “Taqaddum” of Lying and Deception

Sudan Events – Reports

The office of the Vice Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Malik Agar, accused the Taqaddum Coordination of lying, deceiving, and misrepresenting facts alongside their shameful positions in support of the militia. It stated that supporting the rebellion is not merely a “personal opinion,” and anyone proven to be aligned with it has no right to receive a salary from the state, which is working to protect its citizens and provide security for them, not to fund those contributing to their killing and displacement.

The Vice President’s office issued a press clarification in response to misleading statements by the Sudanese Professionals’ and Unions’ Coordination, affiliated with the “Taqaddum” coalition, which is holding meetings in Nairobi to form a parallel government in the militia-controlled areas. The coordination issued deceptive statements regarding a meeting between the Vice President of the Sovereign Council and the Minister of Labor on January 20, 2025.

The Vice President’s office clarified that the meeting addressed the participation of some civil servants in activities related to the rebellion, with the Vice President urging the strict application of the civil service law without political discrimination. However, the Taqaddum Coordination misrepresented the statements, claiming they were directives to stop employees’ salaries without investigations or court judgments, which was a blatant lie with no basis in the official records.

It further accused the coordination of exceeding the limits of deception by suggesting that such directions would threaten workers’ rights based on political positions or personal war views, which it considered a violation of justice and international commitments.

The office emphasized that civil servants who have withstood their duties across Sudan are true heroes, not traitors or mercenaries in the militia’s ranks. It also stated that Taqaddum’s attempts to falsify the truth and justify their support for the rebellion will not fool anyone, as the Sudanese people know who stands with them and who betrays them.
