Bashair Hospital Closed Indefinitely

Sudan Events – Reports

The South Belt Emergency Committee announced the indefinite closure of Bashair Hospital after a Rapid Support Forces (RSF) soldier opened fire in the surgery ward.

The committee stated in a press release that medical staff and workers began an open strike on Thursday after the incident, which occurred on Wednesday. The soldier reportedly fired shots in the emergency surgery ward.

The strike excludes dialysis units and therapeutic nutrition for children and pregnant women. Patients will only be admitted through the eastern gate.

The committee condemned the incident as part of a series of repeated attacks endangering the safety of hospital staff and patients.
