Abdullah Al-Mirghani, Deputy Chair of the Unionist Party (Original), chaired a comprehensive meeting of the party’s leaders from various states in Port Sudan.

Al-Mirghani reaffirmed the party’s full support for the Sudanese Armed Forces in its national role of safeguarding the country’s sovereignty. He conveyed greetings from the party’s chairman, emphasizing the importance of enhancing national unity to address current challenges.

The meeting resulted in key decisions issued by the party’s chairman to bolster the party’s role. These included forming a leadership committee and a political and economic advisory council comprising vice chairs, assistants, and prominent figures.

Additionally, the decisions included creating a consultative body of experts to provide advice and help shape party policies. The previous executive office, including Political Secretary Moataz Al-Fahal, was dismissed, and former minister Shams Al-Din Al-Dardiri was appointed as the new Political Secretary.

The leadership committee members were sworn in before Abdullah Al-Mirghani during the meeting.

The Unionist Party reaffirmed its commitment to its national role, its internal unity, and enhancing its performance to tackle current challenges and achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
