Two Ships Carrying New Banknotes Arrive at Port Sudan

Two ships carrying new Sudanese banknotes in denominations of 1000 and 500 Sudanese pounds arrived at Port Sudan in the Red Sea state. These banknotes were recently printed, and banking sources have predicted that cash in the new currency will be available in all banks and financial institutions across the states in the coming days. Several Sudanese states are facing a shortage and crisis in cash due to a liquidity shortage. Banks have set a daily withdrawal limit of 100,000 Sudanese pounds, leading to long queues of citizens in front of the banks.
