Completion of Arrangements for the Opening of Atbara Airport

The Head of the Exhibitions Division in the River Nile State, Abu Bakr Ahmed Al-Amin, has announced the completion of arrangements for the opening of Atbara Airport. He emphasized that the airport will serve as a major economic boost and play a pivotal role in the state’s economic expansion.
In addition to the airport’s opening, plans include the inauguration of the adjacent free trade zone, the railway line connecting the airport to the dry port, and specialized slaughterhouses designed to provide comprehensive services that will enhance export operations.
Speaking at the media briefing of the Nile Investment and Industrial Forum held in Atbara, Al-Amin highlighted the crucial role of media in the success of investment projects. He also revealed plans for a series of future investment projects in the state, including the establishment of four industrial cities in Al-Hudi, Umm Al-Tuyour, Nile Shendi, and Hajar Al-Asal. He confirmed that the Umm Al-Tuyour Industrial Zone, covering an area of 64 square kilometers, will be the starting point for this expansion.
Abu Bakr also pointed to a comprehensive plan to connect these industrial cities with paved roads and ensure the provision of water, electricity, and telecommunications services, in line with directives from Sovereign Council Member Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber.
