Port Sudan – Sudan Events
The official spokesperson for the government, Khalid Al-Eyesir, stated that the bombing of Kadugli, South Kordofan, by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) faction led by Abdelaziz Al-Hilu constitutes yet another crime added to the movement’s bloody record.
Al-Eyesir denounced the brutal attack that targeted civilians in Kadugli due to the indiscriminate shelling carried out by SPLM-N forces. The bombardment struck the city’s market, temporary shelter centers in local schools, and various residential areas. In a statement issued on Tuesday, he asserted that this attack, along with previous shelling, aims to destabilize the security and stability of citizens. He further described it as a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws that prohibit targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
According to Al-Eyesir, the attack resulted in the death and injury of dozens of innocent civilians, most of whom were women and children. He also highlighted the worsening humanitarian conditions for the civilian population, who have long lived under the threat of SPLM-N forces.
He called on the international community to take responsibility for this inhumane crime and to hold those responsible accountable in accordance with international law.
