Trump Hosts Netanyahu Amid Sensitive Ceasefire Negotiations

U.S. President Donald Trump will meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (on Tuesday), marking the first foreign leader to be hosted by the Republican president after his inauguration, during a critical moment in the resumption of negotiations on Gaza, according to the French Press Agency.
Since his return to the White House, Trump has proposed “cleaning up” Gaza and relocating Palestinians to “safer” places like Egypt or Jordan, sparking international protests.
Netanyahu announced before traveling to the U.S. that he would discuss with Trump on Tuesday “defeating Hamas, the return of all our hostages, and fighting the Iranian axis in all its dimensions.”
He added, “I believe that by working closely with President Trump, we can further and better reshape the Middle East.”
