Brazilian star Marcelo, former Real Madrid player, announced his retirement at the age of 36, after posting a farewell video on his official Instagram account.

The former Brazilian international scored 58 goals and provided 117 assists in 721 matches, and won 28 titles in his career.

Marcelo said about his move to Real Madrid at the age of 18, “At this age, Real Madrid knocked on my door and I moved there. Now, I can proudly say that I am a Madrid fan.”

He stressed that “my life changed completely in Madrid, where I started a family with my wife.”
