Destruction of 7 Tons of Expired Foodstuffs in White Nile

The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, White Nile Branch, destroyed more than 7 tons of expired foodstuffs on Tuesday at the waste disposal site in Kosti, in the presence of representatives from the Consumer Protection Prosecution, Economic Security, Supply Investigations, the state’s Ministry of Health, and the Kosti Locality Waste Management Department.

The Director of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization in White Nile, Magdi Sadiq Al-Haj, stated to the Sudan News Agency that the destroyed materials included various food items such as powdered milk, biscuits of different types, lentils, beans, wheat flour, water, soft drinks, personal care products, diapers for children, and women’s diapers. He mentioned that these materials were the result of several inspection campaigns conducted by the organization in 2014.
