Khartoum Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza revealed the extent of the widespread destruction caused by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in areas recaptured by the Sudanese army in Khartoum State.
According to Al Jazeera Net, the governor explained that the destruction affected the healthcare sector, causing severe damage, in addition to harming water and electricity networks and private property. He affirmed that state authorities and the Sudanese government are working to ensure the safe return of displaced residents to their homes.
He noted that every advance made by the Sudanese army in the state is followed by efforts to remove war-related hazards, such as military debris and unexploded ordnance. He also confirmed that studies have been conducted and submitted to the Sovereignty Council outlining the state’s potential needs for the reconstruction phase.
Regarding the security situation, the governor stated, “The armed forces are advancing on all fronts, especially in Khartoum State, and soon, Khartoum will be declared free of rebellion.”
