Proposal to Grant Al-Burhan a Five-Year Mandate to Rule Sudan

Sudan Events – Reports

The chief of the Hadandawa tribes and head of the Popular Resistance in Sudan, Nazir Sayed Mohammed Ahmed Tirk, stated that the army should be honored through a popular mandate granting General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan a five-year term to lead the country to safety.

Tirk sent a message to political forces whom he described as “dreaming of power through external meetings” and who “remained silent about militia violations,” saying: “Stay silent now as well.”

According to Al-Manbar, Tirk emphasized that the Sudanese people have liberated their land by themselves and will not accept anyone speaking on their behalf or dictating how they should run their country.

He continued: “To international institutions—when Sudanese people were being buried alive, you were anticipating the collapse of their state. Now that they have prevailed, we reject your interference in our affairs.”
