UN Calls for Support for Sudanese Refugees in the Central African Republic

Sudan Events – Reports

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Food Programme (WFP) have launched an urgent appeal for funding to support more than 30,000 Sudanese refugees and their host communities in the Central African Republic (CAR) this year. They warned of an imminent shortage of emergency aid as the number of arrivals continues to rise.

UNHCR Representative in CAR, Fafa Attidzé, stated, “We are witnessing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that requires immediate and sustained international support. Refugees need access to essential protection services and life-saving assistance—action is critical now to prevent further suffering.”
