Research on Alternative Opportunities for the Employment of Displaced Persons and Returnees

The Director-General of the Ministry of Social Development, Sadiq Hassan Farini, met with Dr. Mohamed Hassan Fadlallah, Dr. Sheikh Mousa Al-Nayir, and Dr. Magda Matar from the Arab Experts Center for Press Services and Public Opinion Studies, with the presence of the Director of the General Department for Strategy and Information, as well as several department heads from the Ministry. The meeting reviewed a survey study prepared by the center based on field studies conducted in six states, including Khartoum State. The study was social in nature, involving a sample of 1,277 individuals. Farini welcomed the study, which was prepared in partnership with the Ministry and the center, highlighting that it had been completed and its details were initially reviewed and discussed. The presentation was made by Dr. Mohamed Hassan. The study addresses the effects of war through scientific steps, including field surveys and readings of the situation of displaced persons and returnees, as well as solutions to unemployment problems in shelters and various programs. Farini praised the study, particularly the statistical aspect, pointing out that the war had imposed a new reality. He added that initial readings and discussions would take place and directed the return of the Ministry’s Studies and Research Center. The meeting also agreed to hold a workshop with the participation of all experts.
