The Era of Foreign Interventions Is Over!

Khalid Al-Eisair
When Sudan embraced democracy, some countries were still under the yoke of colonial rule.
We in Sudan do not need lessons from anyone. Our priorities after this devastating war—one in which some neighboring and regional countries have been involved—differ from those of those who took part in the global conspiracy to kill our people, displace them, and weaken our nation.
We seek to build a Sudanese state based on new values and concepts that safeguard the future of generations.
Therefore, it is we, the Sudanese people alone, who determine our destiny and make our decisions in alignment with purely national aspirations that contribute to the establishment of a strong and prosperous state.
Rebuilding the nation on new foundations—anchored in peace, justice, democracy, sustainable development, and the reinforcement of sovereignty and independence—must be done without foreign interventions or external dictates. We must not reopen the doors to those who played a role in creating the difficult circumstances our country and people have endured in recent years—circumstances that we continue to pay for with blood, death, and forced displacement.
Let us determine our path according to our vision. We alone decide what we want and how to achieve our goals.
The era of foreign interventions is over!
