Al-Qadarif Takes Action to Reduce Meat Prices

Sudan Events – Reports

On Sunday, the Acting Governor of Al-Qadarif, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, endorsed the initiative of the Livestock Production Center to provide meat for ministry employees. The meeting was attended by several government members and the state’s security committee.

The Director General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, Dr. Ammar Abdullah Suleiman, explained that the initiative aims to provide meat at symbolic prices for employees and citizens alike during the holy month of Ramadan through direct sales outlets, pricing meat at 11,000 SDG per kilogram to alleviate living costs.

The governor praised the services provided by the Livestock Production Center in easing the cost of living for employees and citizens. He called for increasing the number of sales outlets to cover all parts of the state.

He also stressed the necessity of government intervention to ease the financial burden through discounted sales centers, given the soaring market prices. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of addressing the center’s deficiencies so that it can fulfill its crucial role.
