Sudan: New Cholera Cases

A meeting of the Federal Emergency Operations Center confirmed a decline in the cholera infection rate, citing the recording of 23 new cholera cases, including one death, which raises the cumulative number of cases from 88 localities in 12 states to 57,135 cases, with 1,506 deaths.

The Surveillance and Information Report, presented at the weekly meeting of the center on Tuesday in the Emergency Hall of the Public Health Laboratory in the city of Kassala, attended by Minister Dr. Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim Esferiya, highlighted the continued monitoring of Ebola in Uganda and the tightening of procedures.

The Environmental Health and Food Safety Monitoring Report mentioned the various activities carried out in different fields, including food surveillance, environmental sanitation, and water safety.

In addition, the Health Promotion Report revealed interventions in the White Nile, including home visits, community dialogues, messages through media and social media, interventions in isolation centers, and partnerships with organizations.
