Field sources told Al Jazeera that clashes broke out on Wednesday between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces militia in the heart of the capital, Khartoum. Meanwhile, the army has reclaimed a city in Sennar State, southeastern Sudan.
These clashes come as the army advances on multiple fronts towards the Republican Palace and federal government headquarters in the city center.
