Sudan Events – Agencies

Activists report that the Al-Diyum Al-Sharqiya area and neighboring neighborhoods in Khartoum State are witnessing an increase in security violations amid a severe deterioration in humanitarian conditions.

A statement issued by the Joint Emergency Room of Khartoum Locality noted that “Al-Diyum Al-Sharqiya and its surrounding areas have been experiencing a dangerous escalation in security and humanitarian violations since the intensification of recent battles in Khartoum State.”

It stated that residents are trapped inside their homes under a suffocating siege while facing daily attacks.

The statement also documented cases of rape of several women in the area, in addition to the killing of several civilians by the attacking forces. Volunteers working with the Al-Diyum Al-Sharqiya Emergency Room were also assaulted while carrying out humanitarian work.

The statement mentioned that dead bodies are left in the streets without the possibility of burial due to sniper fire and highlighted attempts to abduct girls by force.

It accused the attacking forces of looting food supplies from community kitchens and charities, depriving residents of their only food source.

Activists from central Khartoum told “Sudan Tribune” that groups of mercenaries from South Sudan, fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), are raiding homes, assaulting residents, and looting food supplies from community kitchens.
