Appointment of Dafallah Al-Haj as Prime Minister

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has issued a decree appointing Ambassador Dafallah Al-Haj Ali as Minister of Cabinet Affairs and assigning him to carry out the duties of Prime Minister.

He directed the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the relevant authorities to implement the decision.

Additionally, on Wednesday, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan approved the Cabinet’s decision to appoint Ambassador Omar Mohammed Ahmed Siddiq as Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Cabinet’s decision to appoint Dr. Al-Tihami Al-Zain Hajar Mohammed as Minister of Education.

He also instructed the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the relevant bodies to implement these decisions.

Dafallah Al-Haj Ali Othman is a prominent Sudanese diplomat whose career began in 1980. He has served as ambassador to several countries, including France, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, and represented Sudan at the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

In 2019, he applied for early retirement, but returned to the diplomatic service after the exceptional measures imposed by the military on October 25, 2021. He was assigned special duties and was later appointed Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2022, a position he held until January 2023.
