The joint force affiliated with the armed movements has rejected the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia’s calls for a safe withdrawal from the city of El Fasher, affirming its commitment to holding its positions and continuing the fight.
In a press statement, the official spokesperson for the joint force, Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, stated that the call for safe withdrawal came in the wake of what he described as “crushing defeats” suffered by the RSF in more than 208 clashes, the latest of which occurred within the vicinity of El Fasher.
Mustafa added: “Our forces are fighting alongside the Sudanese army and the heroes of El Fasher in defense of the land, honor, and dignity,” emphasizing that the militia’s call for safe withdrawal is “an attempt to mislead civilians and cover up its military failure.”
He stressed that the joint forces will remain stationed in their positions and continue fighting “to the last soldier,” asserting that “armed struggle remains their steadfast choice to defend the rights and dignity of the people.”
