Sudan Open University has announced the closure of its branch in the United Arab Emirates, citing what it described as the “Emirati aggression against the Sudanese people.”
According to a statement issued by the university, signed by its director, Professor Abdel Khaleq Fadl Rahmatullah, the decision also includes the closure of its branches in both South Sudan and Chad.
The university explained that this step comes in line with the decision of the Security and Defense Council, which classified the UAE as an “aggressor state.” The university affirmed that it is the first educational institution to take this stance in alignment with the state’s directives, in solidarity with the nation and its people, and in support of the Sudanese Armed Forces.
