Joint Forces Announce Control of Strategic Al-Attroun Area

The Joint Forces of the Armed Struggle Movements announced their control of the strategic Al-Attroun area, located in the desert of North Darfur, following a coordinated military operation conducted alongside the Sudanese Armed Forces.

In a statement, spokesperson Ahmed Hussein Mustafa said the operation inflicted heavy losses in lives and equipment on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), describing the advance as a “decisive step” toward restoring security and stability in the Darfur region.

The statement added that the Joint Forces continue to monitor developments and movements in the western border areas, affirming their commitment to protecting civilians and safeguarding Sudanese territory from any threats.

The forces called on the people of Darfur and the rest of the country to unite and support the “national efforts to defeat militias” and restore peace, expressing hope that Sudan will enjoy peace and dignity.

Al-Attroun Oasis falls within the administrative unit known as “Al-Wahat” (the oases), which includes several areas such as Karab Al-Toum, Al-Raheb, and Al-Nakhil. Its strategic importance stems from its location along a vital route connecting North Darfur with Northern State and extending to the border triangle with Libya and Chad.
