The Sudanese army affirmed on Friday that the accusations of using chemical weapons are baseless, weak, and misleading, asserting that it is waging its war in a clean and lawful manner without the use of any prohibited weapons.
On Thursday, the United States imposed sanctions on the Sudanese government after accusing it of using internationally banned chemical weapons against civilians in conflict areas.
The official spokesperson of the armed forces, Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah, said through the “Official Government Spokesperson” platform: “Their justifications can be described as dangerous and misleading. We are fighting our legitimate war with clean methods and never use any prohibited weapons.”
He added, “They know this well, yet at the same time they deliberately turn a blind eye to the real criminals — the Al-Dagalo militia,” as he put it.
