Sudanese Army Takes Control of Al-Dibibat and Issues Ultimatum for RSF Withdrawal from El Fasher

The spokesperson for the Sudanese army announced that its forces had gained full control of the city of Al-Dibibat in South Kordofan, western Sudan, after clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The joint forces allied with the army confirmed that they inflicted heavy losses on the RSF in Al-Dibibat in terms of personnel and equipment.

In a statement, they indicated that the recapture of Al-Dibibat is a significant step toward securing the Kordofan region (comprising three states) and advancing toward the Darfur region (comprising five states).

Sudanese army members posted videos on social media announcing their entry into Al-Dibibat and the defeat of RSF forces.

Al-Dibibat, located 186 kilometers from Kadugli—the state capital—is a strategic city as it connects South Kordofan with North Kordofan and East Darfur.

Control of Al-Dibibat also paves the way to lift the siege on Dilling, which lies 60 kilometers away and is the second-largest city in South Kordofan.

Meanwhile, Abu Aqla Kikil, commander of the Sudan Shield Forces fighting alongside the Sudanese army, gave the RSF a 48-hour ultimatum to withdraw from El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State.

In an address to his fighters, Kikil stated that the Sudan Shield Forces and all army formations will move toward El Fasher to break the siege on the city.
