Salwa Adam Buniya, the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, informed the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Clementine Salami, that the Sudanese people are capable of overcoming hardships if supported by their fellow brothers and sisters.
During her meeting with the UN humanitarian coordinator on the occasion of the end of her mission in Sudan, Salwa stated that Sudan has no problems with other nations, but greed for its wealth and resources has led to wars that hinder the country’s progress.
Salwa reassured the UN coordinator that humanitarian work would continue, and that all aid would reach the areas in need. She also expressed her gratitude to the UN official for her dedicated efforts toward humanitarian work in the country.
For her part, Clementine Salami affirmed that she would remain by the side of the Sudanese people until this crisis is overcome and peace is restored. She emphasized her continued efforts to increase support for Sudan, stating, “It has been an honor and privilege to engage in humanitarian work in Sudan.”
