
Customs officials at Port Sudan International Airport successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle $60,000 out of the country. The cash was in the possession of a departing passenger who had concealed it within his body in a sophisticated manner. However, the vigilance and professionalism of the customs officers prevented the offense.
Brigadier General of Police Babiker Yousif Babiker, Acting Director General of the Customs Forces, praised the alertness of the Tokar shift team and the preventive and supervisory role played by Port Sudan Airport Customs in protecting the national economy.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General of Police Mohamed Al-Noor, Assistant Director General for Customs Operations, commended the significant efforts of the customs force at Port Sudan Airport, emphasizing the importance of uncovering any smuggling attempts.
Brigadier General of Police Amir Zain Al-Abideen Omar, Director of the General Administration of Red Sea Customs, stated that Port Sudan Airport Customs operates on a delicate balance between facilitating passenger movement and maintaining strict oversight of all customs areas. He praised the successful seizure and the team’s distinguished performance.
In the same context, Colonel of Police Abdel-Aal Ali Hassan, Director of Port Sudan Airport Customs Division, explained that the passenger tried to smuggle the amount by concealing it within his body, but the sharp instincts of the customs team uncovered the attempt. All necessary legal procedures were taken against the individual.
The Customs Forces confirmed that such seizures are part of their ongoing efforts to protect the national economy and prevent all forms of smuggling.
