Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris outlined his vision for managing the country in the coming phase, accompanied by implementation mechanisms. In a speech to the Sudanese nation on Sunday, he stated that the urgent priority is to achieve Sudanese national security and restore state authority by eliminating rebel movements and all militias. He also urged the countries that support them to cease their backing, including those that plan, fund, or assist in their operations. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law across the police force, the prosecution service, the judiciary, and the Constitutional Court.
Idris noted that the second key item in his plan is to efficiently manage the transitional period and ensure stability, peace, and security throughout the country. His plan also addresses economic issues and people’s livelihoods by mobilizing all resources to boost exports and enhance agriculture and industry. He further highlighted the need for reconstruction efforts through full mobilization, promoting dialogue, and rejecting regionalism.
He called on international organizations and the global community to support Sudan in its reconstruction efforts, and praised friendly and sister countries that have supported Sudan and the armed struggle movements. He pledged to uphold the principles of justice, peace, sustainable development, public services, and the fight against corruption and poverty.
