Police: Thousands of Officers Deployed to Secure Eid Holiday

The Sudanese police have revealed the deployment of thousands of officers across the country to protect citizens and property during the Eid al-Adha holiday, in accordance with the security conditions of each state.

Police spokesperson Brigadier General Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Toum told Al-Tara Sudan that thousands of officers will be deployed in all Sudanese states to ensure safety during the Eid al-Adha holiday, affirming that the number of personnel deployed will be sufficient for the task.

He noted that the Police Forces’ General Command, during its second emergency management meeting, instructed all states to develop security plans tailored to their local conditions for the Eid holiday.

Al-Toum further explained that the Police Command has a specific plan to support Khartoum State, which includes reinforcing checkpoint security forces, increasing patrols, setting up fixed and mobile security posts across all localities, and safeguarding public institutions and diplomatic missions.

He also confirmed that the plan includes deploying criminal investigation and security police units to monitor and track criminal activity and disturbances, as well as activating community policing centers to engage local communities in maintaining public safety.
