Prime Minister Dr. Kamal Idris held a phone call with the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Ramtane Lamamra, to discuss ways the United Nations can support the peace process in Sudan and coordinate efforts for the reconstruction of areas devastated by war.
In a post on his Facebook page, the Prime Minister stated:
“I emphasized during the call the importance of UN agencies carrying out their roles in accordance with their mandates. I also conveyed a message to Secretary-General António Guterres highlighting the need for the UN to intensify its efforts to support Sudan during this critical period. I affirmed our strong commitment to finalizing the formation of the government in the coming weeks.”
He added, “We reaffirm our determination to continue working toward a safe, stable, and prosperous Sudan.”
