Airstrikes Target Nyala Airport

The city of Nyala, capital of South Darfur State, witnessed a series of airstrikes targeting the city’s airport and various other locations.

According to a source cited by the BEM Monitor, loud explosions described as “intense” were heard around Nyala Airport and the eastern parts of the city around 10:00 PM. The attacks reportedly continued intermittently until between 2:00 and 3:00 AM.

The source indicated that the airstrikes occurred shortly after an aircraft landed at Nyala Airport at 9:00 PM and departed later, without any details revealed about its mission or affiliation.

He added that several neighborhoods were targeted, noting that the sound of explosions was heard across a wide area of the city. He continued: “The airstrikes in Nyala targeted areas adjacent to the airport and lasted for about ten minutes. They also struck neighborhoods in the eastern parts of the city. The attacks were very intense, and the explosions could be heard in multiple districts.”
