At least seven civilians, including five children, were killed on Friday in an artillery shelling carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeting the northern parts of El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State.
Local sources told “Sudan Tribune” that “seven civilians, including five children from one family, were killed when artillery shells fired by the RSF landed in the northern areas of El-Obeid.”
The sources explained that the RSF shelling was in retaliation for a similar attack by the army on RSF positions in Bara, an area under RSF control.
They added that the affected areas included the neighborhoods of Arafat and Al-Salihin, as well as the vegetable market and the industrial zone.
