Acting Sudanese Ambassador to Chad: Refugees’ Return Home is Imminent

The Acting Ambassador of Sudan to Chad, Mohamed Gamal Omar, emphasized the importance of the Sudanese community in Chad maintaining unity, cohesion, and a shared commitment to collective action and national values.

Speaking during the Sudanese community’s Eid al-Adha celebration in the Chadian capital, N’Djamena, Omar stated that Sudan is steadily progressing toward victory and peace. He praised the continuous victories achieved by the Sudanese Armed Forces and their allied units in the “War of National Dignity” against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. These successive gains on the ground, he said, indicate that the end of the suffering endured by the Sudanese people for over two years is near. He noted that the return of refugees to their homes is now imminent, given the military’s advances and the strong popular support behind the army, driven by the goal of restoring the authority and dignity of the Sudanese state. He expressed hope that future holidays would be celebrated on Sudanese soil in a climate of stability and national restoration.

Ambassador Omar affirmed that the embassy is closely monitoring the situation of the refugees and is working in close coordination with Chadian authorities and international organizations to ensure a safe and dignified return for Sudanese forced to flee their homeland due to the war. He expressed deep gratitude to the Chadian people for their noble stance, having opened their doors and hearts to Sudanese refugees over the past two years, offering shelter and support during the most difficult times. He stressed that this genuine popular solidarity stems from deep historical, geographic, and shared destiny ties between the two nations. He added that Sudanese people will never forget this humanitarian generosity and heartfelt solidarity.
