Prime Minister: 22 Ministries in the Upcoming “Government of Hope”

Prime Minister Dr. Kamal Idris has revealed the formation of 22 ministries in the upcoming “Government of Hope.”

In a speech to the Sudanese people on Thursday, the Prime Minister stated that the government structure will include the Ministries of Defense and Interior, Human Resources and Social Welfare, Digital Transformation and Telecommunications, Finance, Agriculture and Irrigation, Livestock and Fisheries, Minerals, Energy, Education and National Instruction, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Health, Environment and Sustainability, Federal Governance and Rural Development, Youth and Sports, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Industry and Trade, Infrastructure and Transport,

Culture, Media and Tourism, Justice, Religious Affairs and Endowments, and the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.

The Prime Minister confirmed that the structure will include administrative bodies such as the Integrity and Transparency Commission—with broad legal powers and a mandate to combat corruption—as well as the National Council for Economic and Strategic Planning, and the National Investment Authority.

He also pointed out five major issues facing the country, including the failure to place the right person in the right position and the widespread corruption in all its forms and manifestations.
