Minerals Undersecretary Receives Inventory Committee Report and Announces Institutional Reform Features

On Sunday, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Dr. Hind Siddiq, received the report of the committee tasked with inventorying and classifying the assets of the General Authority for Geological Research and its affiliated premises in Khartoum State. The report was handed over by the Authority’s Director General, Consultant Geologist Ahmed Haroun Al-Tom, at the Ministry’s temporary headquarters in the administrative capital, Port Sudan.

Dr. Hind emphasized that the report represents a strategic step toward developing the Authority and enhancing its role in the mining sector. She stressed the importance of establishing a comprehensive database to meet the demands of the current phase and minimize risks.

She noted that the report’s recommendations would serve as a roadmap for restoring the Authority’s pivotal role, calling for coordinated efforts and accelerating institutional work. She praised the performance of the inventory committee and the comprehensive report it completed in a short period.

The handover ceremony was attended by several department directors, in addition to the Ministry’s Executive Director and the Director of Mineral Economics Security.
