Political forces allied with the Sudanese army submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Kamil Idris on Sunday, demanding to be included in political consultations ahead of the anticipated announcement of the new government.
Key parties within the Democratic Bloc coalition objected to their exclusion from the consultations that took place before Kamil Idris was appointed Prime Minister.
According to Sudan Tribune, the memorandum emphasized the role of political forces in providing political support to the army and defending the state in regional and international forums.
The memorandum argued that the main objectives of the upcoming government should focus on providing services fairly and effectively, launching an inclusive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue that excludes no one, and maintaining an equal distance from all political components.
The memorandum, delivered to the Prime Minister on Sunday, was signed by several political groups, most notably:
The Democratic Alliance for Justice led by Mubarak Ardol
The National Movement Forces led by Tijani Sese
A faction of the Popular Congress Party
And other parties within the Democratic Bloc.
