High-Level Customs Delegation Reviews Reconstruction Efforts in Khartoum

A high-level delegation from the Customs Authority conducted field visits to several departments and vital facilities in Khartoum State to assess the damage and monitor the progress of maintenance and rehabilitation work.
The delegation was headed by Police Major General (Legal) Hisham Mohamed Al-Hassan, Director of the General Administration of Administrative and Financial Affairs in the Anti-Smuggling Directorate, and Police Brigadier General Abdulrahman Al-Zain Al-Abidin Taha, Director of the General Directorate of Guidance and Services, accompanied by Police Lieutenant Colonel Waheed Babiker Kalo from the Anti-Smuggling Directorate.
The delegation was received by Police Brigadier General Abdullah Youssef Al-Hassani, Acting General Supervisor of Customs Forces in Khartoum State, along with several department directors, officers, NCOs, and customs soldiers.
The visit began with a tour of the Prisons Forces Headquarters, where the delegation met with Police Lieutenant General (Legal) Yasser Omar Abu Zaid, Director General of the Prisons Forces. The tour also included the Police Administrative Affairs Authority Headquarters, where they met with Police Lieutenant General (Legal) Ibrahim Ahmed Shamin, Head of the Authority.
The tour further included a visit to the Khartoum State Police Headquarters, where the delegation was received by Police Major General Abdulkarim Hamdo, Acting Director of State Police.
The delegation also visited the General Customs Administration of Khartoum State, where Police Colonel Khalid Hassan, Director of the State Anti-Smuggling Directorate, provided a comprehensive briefing on performance and challenges, praising the visit and the continued support of the Customs leadership.
Major General Hisham Mohamed Al-Hassan expressed his deep appreciation for the resilience of customs personnel in Khartoum State despite the harsh conditions imposed by the war, reaffirming the commitment of the Customs leadership to completing maintenance and reconstruction projects and overcoming all obstacles hindering the efficient resumption of customs work.
For his part, Brigadier General Abdulrahman Al-Zain Al-Abidin Taha commended the significant efforts undertaken by the Khartoum Customs Directorate in carrying out customs duties and combating smuggling despite the current security and logistical challenges.
The visit also included the Colonel Police Abdoun Sid Ahmed Medical Complex in central Khartoum, affiliated with the Customs Forces. The delegation observed the ongoing maintenance work supervised by the complex’s director, Police Colonel (Legal) Magda Othman Mohamed, who provided a detailed explanation of the damages suffered by the medical equipment and devices.
Brigadier General Abdulrahman pledged his support for the complex and the provision of all necessary resources, recognizing it as a vital service facility for customs personnel and citizens.
According to Customs Media sources, the delegation will continue its visits in the coming days to several customs stations and yards in Khartoum State, aiming to assess needs and provide necessary support to ensure the continuity of efficient customs operations in light of the current challenges, paving the way for the relocation of the Anti-Smuggling Directorate headquarters to the state.
