Sennar Governor: Ready to Cultivate 5 Million Acres This Agricultural Season

The Governor of Sennar State, Major General (Retired) Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed, confirmed that preparations have begun for the current agricultural season to cultivate 5 million acres. He pointed out that the government has established a financing portfolio for farmers in partnership with the Savings Bank and the Agricultural Bank and has provided more than 200 agricultural machines.
Speaking on the program Kala’ati on Blue Nile TV, the governor noted the stability of the situation in the border areas of Sennar State with South Sudan. He emphasized that the state government gives high priority to the security file and that the situation in Sennar is now safe and stable and progressing forward.
He added that voluntary return in the state has been carried out in cooperation with civil organizations and the state government.
The governor also explained that the state government is adopting a policy of introducing solar energy in service facilities such as hospitals and drinking water wells through a cost-sharing system, where the government covers about 60% of the cost, with the remainder to be covered by localities, individuals, and institutions. He welcomed the popular efforts to restore the state to its former status.
The Governor of Sennar also addressed public and private sector employees, urging them to return to their workplaces, confirming the stability of security and services. He stated that the government has begun paying delayed salaries and that all employees’ salaries will be fully paid by the end of this year.
