On Thursday, the Sudanese Embassy in Nairobi organized a seminar at its headquarters addressing war crimes and acts of genocide committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against civilians in the states of Darfur, Khartoum, and Al-Jazirah.
Acting Chargé d’Affaires Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Othman Okasha presented a detailed report on the violations committed by the RSF militia, which is supported by external actors. He affirmed that this militia will ultimately be defeated by the resilience of the Sudanese people and the bravery of the Sudanese Armed Forces and all other regular forces under its umbrella. He also praised the strong national spirit of the Sudanese community in Kenya and their steadfast support for the armed forces.
The seminar featured firsthand testimonies from members of the Masalit community association, who witnessed the genocide targeting the Masalit tribe with the aim of exterminating them and taking control of their lands—one of the most horrific cases of ethnic cleansing.
They called on the international community to break its silence and take swift action to classify the RSF militia as a terrorist organization and refer its leaders to international justice.
