Prime Minister: Telecommunications and Digital Transformation Are Fundamental Pillars of Building a Modern State

Prime Minister Dr. Kamal Idris emphasized the importance of developing the country’s telecommunications infrastructure, considering telecommunications and digital transformation as key pillars for the development and construction of a modern state. He also expressed the Prime Minister’s Office’s keen interest in advancing this sector.

During a meeting in his office in Port Sudan on Sunday, the Prime Minister was briefed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Transformation, Dr. Al-Sadiq Jamal Al-Din, on the overall situation within the ministry. He was also informed of the challenges facing the sector, particularly in light of the systematic destruction of infrastructure carried out by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

According to the Sudan News Agency, the Undersecretary stated that he had listened to the Prime Minister’s directives, particularly regarding the development of fiber optic networks for educational use, enhancing areas of artificial intelligence, advancing fifth-generation (5G) networks, and revitalizing postal services. He noted that the Prime Minister affirmed his support for digital transformation.

Al-Sadiq added that the Prime Minister’s directives will have a positive impact on the sector, affirming the ministry’s commitment to implementing them, especially as they lay a solid foundation for launching a comprehensive digital transformation.
