Prime Minister Calls for Unity Behind the Army

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has called for the urgent need to unify ranks behind the Armed Forces and supporting units in order to complete the “War of Dignity,” eliminate the rebellion, and defeat the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

This came during his meeting on Tuesday at his office in Port Sudan with a delegation from the National Popular Commission for the Support of the Armed Forces. He stressed that the Armed Forces are the nation’s safety valve and expressed his appreciation for the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and their supporting units on the battlefield.

The official spokesperson of the Commission, Hassan Ali Abbas, stated in a press briefing that the delegation presented a full briefing and report on the Commission’s activities over the past two years. He noted that the meeting also discussed the Commission’s plans, programs, and strategies for the next six months.

He added that the Prime Minister praised the Commission’s efforts and affirmed his support for all of its programs. The delegation also submitted a detailed plan outlining the Commission’s upcoming six-month activities in support of civil institutions. He confirmed that the Commission would continue working under the Prime Minister’s umbrella in the coming period.
