Prime Minister Calls for Intensified Efforts to Rebuild War-Torn Areas

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has called on the people of Central Sudan to intensify efforts to rebuild and restore areas devastated by the war. He urged unity of purpose and reconciliation, especially as the region suffered major violations at the hands of the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

On Thursday, Idris met in the Council of Ministers hall in Port Sudan with representatives from the Inclusive Central Sudan Forum, including community, political, and tribal leaders. The meeting discussed the challenges facing the region, which includes the states of Al Jazirah, Sennar, and White Nile.

The attendees agreed on strengthening coordination and consultation mechanisms with the central government to find appropriate solutions to the region’s problems in line with the aspirations and needs of its citizens. They also agreed to establish effective communication channels between Central Sudan’s communities and the central government.

Speakers at the meeting highlighted the region’s most pressing issues, emphasizing its diverse social fabric and the need for coordination with the Prime Minister’s Office on agriculture, infrastructure, essential services, national healthcare, and fostering national unity.

They affirmed their full support for the armed forces, auxiliary forces, and the “Government of Hope” led by Dr. Kamal Idris in pursuit of noble national goals to uplift and rebuild the country.
