The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia committed a massacre by executing more than 270 South Sudanese mercenaries who were serving in its ranks in the Umm Garfa area of North Kordofan State.
According to available information, the executions took place last Sunday after some of the South Sudanese mercenaries expressed dissatisfaction over poor treatment and discrimination compared to others. This unrest triggered a swift reaction from an RSF commander named Ali Al-Balla, who summoned all RSF elements in the area, surrounded the South Sudanese fighters, and carried out their execution. The number of those killed exceeded 270 individuals, most of them from the Nuer tribe.
