On Tuesday, the city of Port Sudan experienced a power outage due to the shutdown of the Turkish barge supplying electricity to the city.
The Media Coordination Council of the Sudan Electricity Company reported that the barge’s malfunction led to a partial power outage in several areas of the city.
The council confirmed that specialized technical teams immediately began maintenance and repair work to fix the malfunction. Efforts are underway at an accelerated pace to restore the barge to operation and resume electricity supply to all affected areas as soon as possible.
