Humanitarian Aid Commission: We Operate Fairly in Shelters and Displacement Areas

The Commissioner-General of Humanitarian Aid, Salwa Adam Bonya, stated that her upcoming inspection tour for those affected by the war will include areas in Kordofan. She affirmed that the Commission is operating under the country’s difficult circumstances, working to meet the needs in shelter and displacement areas with a spirit of equitable distribution among the states.

During her meeting on Thursday in Port Sudan with the Governor of West Kordofan State, Major General (Ret.) Mohammed Adam Mohammed Jaid, she pledged to provide humanitarian assistance to the state according to the national aid distribution schedule, acknowledging the unique needs of West Kordofan.

For his part, the Governor of West Kordofan presented a report outlining the state’s needs, noting that the number of displaced people had reached 556,000, dispersed across villages and localities of the state, with an average daily influx of 260 individuals. He called for urgent intervention and support for the displaced, especially as the rainy season approaches. He also praised the Humanitarian Aid Commission for its efforts in alleviating the suffering of citizens in shelters and delivering essential assistance to those affected by the war.
