A prominent community leader in El Geneina was shot and killed on Monday by unidentified gunmen driving a pickup truck, who then fled to an unknown location.
This incident marks the second of its kind within 24 hours. On the same day, another civilian was fatally shot in the Riyadh market, west of El Geneina.
Eyewitnesses told Darfur24 that gunmen in a pickup truck fired a barrage of bullets at Chief Adam Hassan Allah near his home in the Um Qura area, east of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State.
According to eyewitnesses, the chief died before reaching the hospital, while the perpetrators managed to flee eastward out of the city.
