Turkey: We Will Provide More Humanitarian Aid to Sudan and Contribute to Reconstruction

The Advisor to the Sovereign Council for Organizations and Humanitarian Work, Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail Mahmoud, met on Wednesday with the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Fatih Yıldız.

Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail Mahmoud praised Turkey’s supportive stance toward Sudan in various fields, highlighting its humanitarian role and assistance to the Sudanese people during their time of crisis.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador stated in a press briefing that the meeting addressed the overall challenges facing humanitarian efforts and the delivery of aid to those in need. He emphasized the importance of joint coordination between humanitarian organizations in both countries to provide services and support to the Sudanese people.

Ambassador Yıldız affirmed that Turkey will provide more humanitarian aid to Sudan in the coming period, pointing out that Sudan is going through the worst humanitarian crisis, which necessitates standing by its side.

He added, “Turkey will participate in the reconstruction and rebuilding phase,” noting that the coming period will witness the arrival of Turkish businessmen and investors to contribute to Sudan’s reconstruction. Turkish organizations and companies will also engage in reconstruction efforts, especially in Khartoum State.

The Turkish ambassador reiterated his country’s support for Sudan in regional and international forums to help it overcome its current challenges, in addition to offering support in various fields and continuing humanitarian assistance to the Sudanese people.
