Sudan’s Military Industry Corporation is participating for the second time in the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), currently taking place in Istanbul, Turkey, from July 22 to 27.
The participation comes with official Turkish support, with the exhibition inaugurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Sudanese Minister of Defense Lt. Gen. Hassan Daoud Kabroun and the Director-General of the Defense Industries Corporation were in attendance, alongside numerous defense ministers, military leaders, and dignitaries from around the world.
According to the official Sudanese Armed Forces page, Minister Kabroun stated that Sudan is on course to reclaim its regional stature through a strategic vision that balances sovereignty with constructive military and technical cooperation.
Sudan’s involvement aims to explore modern defense technologies, facilitate technology transfer, build strategic partnerships with regional and global companies, and showcase national defense manufacturing capabilities. It also provides an opportunity to open investment channels and enhance Sudan’s reintegration into international forums.
The participation of Sudan’s Defense Industries Corporation in such a major event highlights the country’s resilience and ability to overcome crises. It underscores Sudan’s commitment to developing domestic production that reinforces national sovereignty and supports the national economy.
IDEF is one of the world’s largest defense industry exhibitions, organized under the supervision of the Turkish Ministry of Defense. It features over 1,400 companies from more than 50 countries, including the U.S., France, China, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and South Korea. The exhibition showcases the latest in land, naval, and aerial defense technologies, including applications of artificial intelligence in military contexts.
