15 Civilians Killed by Militia Gunfire in North Darfur

At least 15 civilians were killed by RSF gunfire on Saturday while attempting to leave El Fasher in North Darfur in response to calls from prominent leaders of the “Founding” alliance urging residents to evacuate the city.

Local sources told Sudan Tribune that at least 15 people were executed by RSF forces early Saturday while trying to reach the town of Garni, west of El Fasher.

It was reported that several young people were captured after being accused of supporting the Army and the Joint Forces.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) in North Darfur, Mohamed Adam, told Sudan Tribune that the calls from RSF allies to evacuate El Fasher were only followed by a few young people, due to economic pressures. However, they were later betrayed and brutally killed.

He accused leaders such as Hadi Idris and Taher Hajar, the head of the Sudan Liberation Movement – Transitional Council, of misleading and deceiving the people of El Fasher through the evacuation calls, ultimately leading them to a tragic fate—death and mutilation.

He urged the youth to remain steadfast in defending the city and to resist the calls to evacuate El Fasher.
