Sudan’s Civil Aviation Authority issued a statement Wednesday in response to the United Arab Emirates’ decision to suspend flights by Sudanese airlines to its airports.
The authority said it was surprised by the move, which included preventing a Sudanese aircraft from taking off at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
“The Civil Aviation Authority confirms it is closely following these developments with the relevant parties,” the statement said, adding that coordination is ongoing with the affected airlines to rebook passengers traveling to and from the UAE.
